Well, I just spent the last 5 days taking an advanced first aid course.  Yay!  Came in 2nd for the marks.  I screwed up on a few questions.  Oh well.

Well, haven't really been up to much this month, and I'm going back to work in the near future.

Not back to work, boo!

Transport Canada stuff coming up, and I don't know anything about these inspections.
Oh well, guess I'll miss the Hurricane then. :)

Back to work today! Yay!

Not in England either.  That's nice :)

Went surfing yesterday, and not in a place that we usually go.

It wasn't that big, and the waves were a bit mushy, but we
had the gear that could work it.  The big thing was that the
waves broke in the same area all the time, so you could get
out easy, and on top of that you knew where you had to be
to take off.  I'm so sick of beach break and guessing  if the
wave was going to break or not, then have it close out on me
that I was going to give it a try even if my friend wasn't going in

I got 3 good rides going backside which isn't something I do alot of
and boy was it fun.  Having a wave that you can stay on the shoulder
instead of riding the mush after it closes out is a lot more fun
than beach break crap.  So I had a great time.

Baked Beans

Trying out the slowcooker that Lori and I bought the other day.  It's like huge!
Baked beans would be the benchmark.  If it does these well in 8 hours it'll be a
good buy.  Much cheaper to run than an oven, that's for sure.

Oral Exam

Well, it looks like I'm going to do my Oral Exam tomorrow.  Yay!  Ah, yeah.

I'm all studied out.  I can't really cram any more info into my head.  I hope it doesn't come
gushing out before the exam though, I don't think I could get it back in.

Surfin' Again

Went again yesterday, not much in the way of waves.  Hell, it was flat.
Eaten alive by bugs.  But I got some of them back by inhaling them.

Went Surfin' Again

Yet again we went to Marinique beach to surf.  This time there was very little wind,
and very little waves, but they were catchable.  The worst part was the bugs though,
No See'ums, Mosquitos, and Deer Flys, nasty.  Lori came with us, and she was eaten
alive while waiting for use to get out of the water.  I caught quite a few waves, and
practiced going backside for a change, which I did alright on, but not that great.

When we got out of the water and started putting the racks back on the car, we ended
up getting the car full of bugs, and had to swat them while heading down the road.
Not fun.  Heck, we even kept our wetsuits on while we were installing the racks so that
we wouldn't be raw flesh by the time we were in the car.

Oh well, it's all fun. :D

Went Surfin'

Went surfing yesterday and actually did catch a few waves, including a drop in and angle, meaning I was doing it correctly instead of going straight into the beach. W00t! Unfortunately the waves were only maybe 2 feet tall. :D

Went Surfin'

Caught a few, bailed on a few, pearled a few, and it really wasn't that big. But that having been said I did actually drop in on a wave before it broke, which means that yes I can still surf, just not well right now.

Thursday, July 27, 2006

Well, looks like I passed, barely. The pass mark was 60%, I got a 61%. Not very good. I had problems with trim calculations that I just couldn't figure out. Oh well, shit happens. Atleast it's over. Now I've got to get my head around the stuff I need to know for my oral exam. Which pretty much covers everything I've done till now. Yay.

Goin' Surfin' 2!

Okay, I sucked! Well, I got up a few times, but oh man, was I beat when all was said and done. And I didn't really catch anything decent either, just the white water.

Goin' Surfin'!

For the first time in over a year and 1/2. Let's see how much I suck!

So I'm using this study tool for GSK that was done in HTML.
Unfortunatly you have to guess what way they want the answer.
For instance on one page they might want 10 cm. On the next question of the
same type they might want 0.14m, the next one might have to be answered .3 m.
To figure out if I answered the question right or not I have to view the source and then figure out where the answer would be. Talk about annoying.

On top of that sometimes they get the answer wrong! Great stuff.

I guess if I'm really complaining about the price of gas...

I could switch to one of these: http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/products.php?model=2063&class=16&group=M|&LANG=en
I Kinda like the way this one looks. It's very plain, not retro, not wannabe sportbike or fighter jet. It's utilitarian.

Of course I couldn't haul my surfboard on it, hell, my longboard would be wings, I'd have to get my pilots lic. But it would be good for zipping around town.

I drive a small car, seeing as how I don't have to compensate.
That having been said, even with getting 6.45l/100Km, the price of
gas is driving me nuts! On top of that, with this legislated gas price
bullshit that we have here, the Provinical Government can still pump up
the price when ever the price of oil goes up, if the gas suppliers ask them.
Oh, they can drop the price too, but I don't think we'll be seeing that.

I'm trying to catch up on anime

That I've been trying to follow over the last couple of years.
My job has a tendency to cause me to miss quite a few decent
show.

I've finally finished watching Samurai Champloo, and although
it was decent, it really wasn't anything to write home about,
especially when you compare it to new shows like Black Lagoon.
Blah.  I feel like crap.  Must have been the
chicken I had yesterday.  Oh well.

Here's...

Me!  My first post,  Yay.

Not much to say yet, I'm stuck in PEI doing school stuff to get my WKM
so that I can get off the backDeck of supply boats.
I'm tired of dodging stuff for a living.  If I really wanted to do that, I should be
a matador.
